Past Meeting Award Recipients

The Paul A. Whelan Educator Award and Richard W. Taylor Industry Award are presented to representatives of academia and industry who are AABI members. Nominees should be embers who have made significant contributions to AABI, be employed by academia or industry, and have distinguished themselves as strong supporters of collegiate aviation education and the advancement of AABI. Any AABI member in good standing may make nominations for these Awards. Award recipients are recognized at the AABI Annual Meetings

The Rudy Frasca Award for Professional Excellence is awarded to an Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI) industry or educator member who, in the spirit of Rudy Frasca, has gone “above and beyond” as an accreditation visiting team member or committee member.  The recipient demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and a true passion for aviation education through participation in the accreditation process and encouraging and supporting students to embrace safety as they reach “higher than their dreams.”

The Chairperson’s Award (previously the President’s Award), recipients are nominated by the chairperson, immediate past chairperson and vice chairperson – typically given in recognition of a member who exceeds expectations.
